JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Sales Regional Manager (SRM) will be responsible for overseeing the sales evolution in a particular geographical area (sub-region) with the objective of maximizing revenue, maintaining and building relationships with key customers.  The SRM will manage a team of 6 to 12 people with different roles: Strategic Account Managers (SKAMs) and Key Account Managers (KAMs). The Regional Manager will not manage accounts directly and will dedicate more of their time to coaching their team on business and soft skills during 1-on-1 sessions and ride-alongs. The SRM will support the team and interact with key commercial contacts at all levels in order to help secure & maintain commercial agreements.

Main objectives:

  • Growth in terms of area sales and profitability through proactive management of the team
  • Ensure career development of their team
  • Drive regional and organizational initiatives
  • Through the use of data, complete sales reviews to drive portfolio performance and coach their team on sales competencies.
  • Connect on the most pressing territory initiatives and align on next steps to capture near-term sales opportunities.
  • Accompany team members on visits to key clients

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team huddles: Review weekly and monthly performance trends for subregion and commitments and planned client visits for the week
  • Ride-alongs:  Accompany team in account planning, visit preparation and client visits, keeping an observing attitude.  Mentor the KAMs/SKAMs in both business and soft skills according to each person´s need.
  • 1-on-1 sessions and results review: discuss portfolio performance, strategy and next steps, coaching on selling skills and visit scheduling.
  • Support the KAMs/SKAMs in closing relevant deals & being an escalation point for key clients
  • Data Analysis and admin (bookings, internal reporting, interactions with other departments….)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or accredited experience in Sales Business
  • Fluent English (essential) and Spanish (desirable)
  • Minimum of 5-10 years sales experience in the travel industry
  • Advanced Microsoft skills.
  • Good command of English. (Spanish an asset).
  • Management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of sales management in a hospitality set up (retailer)
  • Excellent communication.  High degree of interpersonal skills and ability to interact at a high level. Dynamic, outgoing personality, self-motivated, resourceful, highly independent, innovative, creative with high degree of customer service and result oriented.
  • Strong computer literacy and strong understanding of some technical solutions used by the travel trade.
  • Advanced in data analysis
