JOB DESCRIPTION:

SOLUTION ARCHITECT JOB DESCRIPTION

The Job

We are looking for Solution Architects to join our team, working within our agile teams focusing on design, impact analysis and outcome of our solutions.

Our Solution Architects interface heavily with our Enterprise Architects protecting outcome and estimates and adhering and contributing to the overall agreed strategy, standards and guidelines.

Our Solution Architects sit in the delivery teams, working from inside and being part of the team, participating in the agile ceremonies, with special focus on the refinement and planning sessions.

Our Solution Architects also create tech interest, generating “noise” about the latest developments from a technical perspective and applicability in their domain.

We use AWS and GCP as our main cloud platforms. We have a container-first strategy prioritizing the usage of Docker & Kubernetes for all our new developments, while also migrating gradually our existing applications into containers.

Most of our in-house developed applications are based on a hybrid distributed microservice architecture pattern, using Java Springboot and handling up to thousands of transactions per second. We use Angular as our frontend technology, Kafka for messaging and data replication, Redis for caching and prefer PostgreSQL-based persistence. We automate the deployment and operation of our platform using Terraform and Ansible.

In terms of monitoring we currently use open-source based solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana and Elastic. Experience with SaaS observability platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace or similar solutions would also be beneficial.

SalesForce is used as our customer and supplier management system and SAP is a fundamental piece of our finance platform.

Although the company is migrating away from legacy technologies, understanding and knowledge of PL/SQL will be helpful. Experience and knowledge of the travel-industry, especially in terms of B2B and Bedbank is specially valued.
